After a couple of 40 mile rides and numerous other smaller rides the chain only dropped once whilst travelling over extremely bumpy ground. That was probably due to forgetting to re-enable the clutch on the rear mech.
I did miss the lower gear ratios of the 2 by 10 set up on the steeper Welsh climbs at the Scott MTB marathon at Builth Wells. Although I was able to complete the ride on 34t front chain ring, swapping it out for a 32t may have been a better choice. It will be interesting to review the recorded speed profile of the event and see if the 32t would have been more beneficial.
I think on this bike I will stay 1×10 until everything is worn out. I think I will probably consider the newly announced 1×11 Deore XT when the time comes.
