I changed chain and rear cassette at the weekend due to wear and tear over the past 5 months. Unfortunately the front chain rings also required changing due to suffering severe chain suck. Rather than replacing both rings with identical replacements I decided to try a 1×10 set-up for simplicity. The front chain ring is a Hope 34 retainer ring, and a t-rex 40t rear. It will be interesting to see how this works on longer rides and may need to drop to a 30 or 32.
